Massa takes win at F1 Turkish GP 2008
Well it was always on the cards, wasn’t it? He even claimed on arrival that he owns the track (I think Bernie Ecclestone might have a few quiet words to say about that). Lewis did well to finish 2nd despite a 3 stop strategy and pulled a blinder on Massa. I think Massa could have defended a bit better in order to get a ferrari 1-2 but no, not Massa. Still the weekend did go well for 3rd placed Raikkonen as he had a few setbacks including a broken gearbox in practice and not quite finding the right set up. As a damage liitation exercise goes he did achieve 3rd having qualified 4th. I reckon he could have got 2nd if not 1st, unfortunately he had a racing incident with Kovailanen which broke Kimi’s front wing endplate. Oh well, fortunately Kimi had the sense and experience to slow down and let him by but Kovy ended up costing his own race. Ther was talk of the shame of Anthony Davidson being unlikely to return to racing - shame? What Shame? It’s not a charity. If you’re fast you’re in, if you’re not - go home!
